Recently writing time has found me spending hours searching online for all those wonderful spots to promote myself which hopefully translates to my work. Often it occurs to me that only one in a million readers knows my name, not to mention what I write. And if they don’t know what I write, how can they know me? When the idea of creating a logo took root, I began to discuss it with other writers. How wonderful if I could come up with something so creative, so clever that everyone seeing it would want to know more about me (my writing), but nothing seemed to work.
Writing regional historical fiction and non fiction is my thing, though occasionally a short story or novel far removed from that area comes pouring out of me. Another writer friend suggested that I have one logo for non fiction and one for fiction. Narrowing this down a bit, I thought one for historical whether fiction or non fiction and another for those oddities that keep running from my fingers to the keyboard without stopping.
A logo for the latter wouldn’t be immediately necessary, since none of those oddities have as yet been published. Perhaps concentrating on what writing is seeing the light of day, so to speak, would be wisest.
So, with a lot of brainstorming with writer friends, this one finally emerged. The logo would be a vine twining around my name and through the words: Weaving Time Through Stories.
I so envy those who are creative in titling, branding, creating logos. My creativity seems to end abruptly when I leave the pages of stories, books and novels. My titles are always rejected, well, almost always, and when someone asks me to tell them in 25 words what my book is about I freeze.
This after ten published novels and books, eight short stories and uncounted historical articles over the past ten years or so. You’d think I could create a simple logo or come up with an apt title. I must be a creative writer, else where did all those stories come from?

Velda, I was just checking to see how things were with you. I see we need to write a book titled, “How to Find Time When There Isn’t Any.”My husband is retired Navy. We have nad a tight schedule for 25 years. I continue to plug away for there are many finished and unfinished books I must take care of.I am very stubborn I can not be own by a house or persons. Keep on writing for we must have a voice in the creative world.
